The Quarter Horse Stakes Board Game
This horse racing board game is an absolute blast to play and will be a hit at your next get-together!! Whether a diehard horse racing fan or someone who has never been, this game will have you on the edge of your seat and probably screaming the number you want someone to roll to get your horse to the finish line!
We craft these game boards out of hardwoods so they last a lifetime! Our most popular species for the game board is wormy maple with its natural beauty and blueish gray streaks left behind from ambrosia beetles. The horizontal lines for the scratched horses, starting line, and finish line are inlaid with a contrasting walnut. Each horse has colored grommets running down the board to make it easier to keep the horses in their lanes as they make their way to the finish line. The horses are plastic figurines on metal posts for durability. All lettering and numbers are laser engraved and the entire board is finished with a durable clear spray lacquer
Have a family name, a special family location, or a funny horse racing name for your game board? We can put whatever "park" name or name of the race you desire on the sides of the board making it unique to you.
** We now offer cutom inlays. Please select "Yes" in the custom inlay selection and then please add in the comment section when you order what logo you wish to add as an inlay. Emails of the picture can speed up the design process"
Each board comes with: Game board, horses, one deck of cards, two dice, and instructions.
"The Quarter Horse Stakes" will be lasered onto the board by default if you don't have a personalized idea in mind.

Basic Game Play
You first deal out all cards to everyone playing after taking out all the Aces and Kings. There is a chance that not everyone will have the same amount of cards at the beginning.
The person to the left of the dealer will roll the dice. Whichever number is rolled will establish the first scratched horse(let's say they rolled a 2 and a 3 = 5). The 5 horse would then move back to the .25 space in its lane. Everyone who has 5 in their hand would then discard it and put a chip into the "pot".
The dice would continue left and the next three rolls would determine the next three scratched horses. Each one corresponds to .50, .75, $1.
Once the four scratched horses are established the next roller would officially start the race. Players should only have non scratched numbers(horses) left in their hand. That player rolls the dice and if the outcome is a non scratched horse then that horse would move up one spot. If they roll a scratched horse then they have to put the corresponding amount into the "pot".
The dice continue around until a horse reaches the finish line(let's say the 9 horse wins). That determines the winning horse! Anyone who is holding a 9 in their hand wins 1/4th of the "pot". If you have two 9's in your hand you win 1/2 of the "pot", three 9's you win 3/4's of the "pot" and if you are lucky enough to have all four you take the whole "pot"!!!
Reset the horses, shuffle, deal, and repeat the fun!!
